Trip to the North Woods...

This past week, the Lee family, Jason, Emily, & Abby headed north to Michigan, Wisconsin, and the Illinois area to visit friends and attend Russ's wedding. Russ and Jia had a beautiful wedding. Both of her dresses and the bridesmaid dresses were beautiful. I wish we had a picture of Monica in her dress to show how beautiful they were. (By the way, this is Emily, not Jason writing...in case you couldn't tell.) Jia brought the dresses over from China with her. There was a basic dress in a stunning shade of pale gold, over top was a see through shimmering gold drss with flower designs woven into the material. Just imagine...

While we were traveling for the week prior to the wedding we saw many good friends and many awesome sights. Abby participated in her first 2 mile hike. We'd show pictures but we left the camera in the car. There was a pretty waterfall, the terrain was not too difficult. All in all a good hike. After our hike, we met up with our friend Sara. In the picture below you see Abby doing a little Kung Fu Fighting. Which happens to be one of her favorite Daddy songs. There is a dance that goes with it.

Abby also took her first outdoor poop, at Jason's favorite camping site. It is a very awe inspiring area to put up your tent and commune with nature. It is a penninsula, with limited access except by foot or by boat. Since it was a chilly November day, no other human being was on this part of the water. It was great, I can't wait to go back when we can actually camp out there. Who wouldn't want to poop on that toilet. I mean that is so much better than squatting. Abby enjoyed the brisk November air of Wisconsin, in her new fleece jumper. Since much of our family is in the north were it is cold, we have been inundated with warm gear for the youngster. It is great. Thank You! Additionally she wore this jumper while sleeping in the house that Jason Holmes, Mark, and Zack live in. (This would be the house without electricity or water. It is going to be a beautiful house when it finally is completed.)

Also on this trip, Abby met Elli. Elli is Benji & Sarah's daughter. Elli was born on September 8, 2004. She is a little bit over a year older than Abby. It was amazing to see where Abby could possibly be developmentally in just a year. Elli is walking and talking. She has such a beautiful bond with both Sarah and Benji. I am excited for the year ahead but also want to savor each possible moment. Elli is so much larger than Abby and I came to the realization that she isn't going to stay this tiny forever. Over the past few weeks Abby has met numerous friends and family. All are amazed at how alert she is for just 7 weeks. Our hope is that our little baby girl continues to amaze us every day.

Comments:
who is the person getting whipped by Abby in the photo??? Who knew a 2 month old had such strength??? Great photos. I want to see one in the El Salvador dress, please!

Our friend Sara from camp, who drove over from Minnesota to visit us in Upper Peninsula. She is definately super Abby. We'll work on the El Salvador Dress Photo.
