Check back here periodically for updates and pictures of Abby and her proud parents.
Abby has become a bundle of energy in the last couple of weeks. In the middle of May we, being the Lee family headed up to Vermont for Mary's graduation from St. Mike's. The week was an enjoyable time of hanging out with the family, spending time with Mary's friends and eating some good food. We arrived in Vermont on Wednesday, in time for Mary's party at her house. The next morning was graduation; super, super
long, and the evening was spend exploring St.Mike's College after hours. Friday and Saturday included time with the family and a party for the island folk to celebrate Mary's graduation. It was a good time although very cold and rainy. One of the highlights of the party was having Mr. & Mrs. Corbin show up. It was terrific of them to voyage out into the rain to see Mary and catch up with the rest of us. It was also quite humorous to have people not recognize Matt and Jeff, or not even realize who they were.
Since the return to North Carolina, Abigail has become more inquisitive and has learned how to pull herself up. She is even playing peek-a-boo, with just herself. I will be sitting in the orange chair, which is a recliner, with the foot rest up and she will pull herself up and then let herself down gently. We say "where's Abigail?" and she pokes her head back over the foot rest. "there she is..." This game can last for quite a while. It makes me laugh that she is enjoying her ability to pull herself up. She has also moved on to add a different laugh to her repertoire. Instead of only having the panting laugh, she now has a regular giggle. It doesn't happen every time but makes Jason and I laugh right along with her.
Abigail has also slept through the night. Only twice but we figure that it is an improvement from waking up every 3 hours... Some days she sleeps like this, all curled up in a corner...The first night I awoke feeling scared and had to come and check and ensure that she was still breathing...
She also likes Jason's game cube. Frequently she will overlook her own toys to play with his. I find this quite funny, especially when he has rolled up the controller but didn't shut the door to the entertainment unit and she gets to the controller. It is all over then. The controller is out and unrolled and slobbered all over. Good Job.
