New Pictures

So we went camping this past weekend. The weather was so much more enjoyable this year as opposed to last year. We were actually able to move. Our camping party included Aaron, Koa, & their two kids Alex & Ella; Benji & Sarah & Elli; Jessica & Ian (Koa's Sister & Brother-in-law); Mary & Paul ( my sister & her boyfriend); and Jason, Abby & I. All of the kids were 4 and younger. We arrived in West Virginia on Friday afternoon and stayed until Monday Morning. The time was spend relaxing, playing Bocci Ball, Reading, Hiking, Swimming in a River, playing on kids bikes, and fun activities like this. In the next few posts, we'll share some photos of our time in WV.

Our First couple of photos are of Abby in the house:

Abby hanging out on her Elmo couch. She is a picture of happiness in her flowered outfit. The headband doesn't usually last very long into the day. She does enjoy being pretty.

Abby looks like a grandpa in this outfit. I pulled them up as a joke but when I went to pull them back down, she wouldn't let me. She continued to hike them up through out the night.

CAMPING PHOTOS

I am not sure if people remember the picture last summer of Abby and Elli but here they are again, a year later. They enjoyed playing on top of Jason's guitar case. It was neat to see Abby playing with other kids.

I love this picture of Sarah and Elli. It is awesome to see other families together. We don't spend a lot of time with other families so it was neat to see family interactions with young children.

This bike was a big hit. Abby loved it. She found a way to have more than one person ride the bike at one point in time. During this ride Pooh was her riding mate. Sometimes Abby was pushed by other kids, other times by who ever was around. Some how Paul got caught as well. The kids took care of Abby and helped her out during the weekend. Although there would be times that we would look up and all the kids were playing together and there was Abby, playing by herself. Mary said it reminded her of me growing up. I would have to agree that sometimes, I like to be the loner.

Abby was able to talk a lot this weekend. She did really well with people's names, especially Mary and Paul. They were definitely her favorites of the weekend. She would wake up in the morning, "Where's Mary? Where's Paul?" She was always asking about them. We are practicing with other people's names as well, so that when you come and visit us, she will know your name as well.

Comments:
WOW! Cute pictures. This long distance grandparenting is for the birds but the pic's sure help.

Yes, she is talking more. This week she said hello grandma, hello grandpa. Made our hearts flutter.

Thank you, Abby.

Looking forward to seeing you in 12 days. Can't wait!!!

Love, Michigan Grandma
