Check back here periodically for updates and pictures of Abby and her proud parents.
Abby has had an exciting life for the last couple of months. She has been exploring more and coming into her own. She has a great laugh and the most beautiful smile. She does something silly ever couple of minutes, when she isn't asking for Juice or wanting to give hugs and kisses. I think that this is the best part of having a two year old, yes that is right she has turned two. Pictures will follow. These two pictures are from her actual birthday. We had a party over at Nanny & Papa's, she even got a Dora Birthday cake. There were plastic toys on the top and they are now her favorite toys ever. You can see Swiper and Boots in her hands in the picture with me and then Dora in the high chair in the second picture. It is really funny, she walks around with her purse that mary gave her and talks about having all of her friends in there.
She asks for hugs and gives kisses and the best is when she comes speeding at you wanting to be held or loved. It was the cutest thing today when Dakota and Abby were giving each other hugs. I found out later on that Abby bit Dakota. Don't worry we are working on it. It will be soon cured. The other really cute thing is that Nanny (aka Ms. Hazel) has been taking care of a little 8 week old baby, Kendall. Abby loves the baby. She gets to hold him and if she hears him crying, she will tell Nanny and Papa to pick the baby up. It gives us hope that she hasn't bitten the baby yet. I honestly think it is just Dakota. He takes her toys.
With her curiousity has come the ability to climb on top of things. The other monrning I came walking into our dining room area and she was sitting on top of the table. She wanted her juice. She hasn't fallen yet but I fear it is soon in coming. She also ate Play-Doh the other morning. We figured this out when Jason went to check her diaper and was concerned by what he saw in there. Yellow Play-Doh on the way in, White dry round chunks on the way out. Oops.
We did decided to take pictures of our best Play-Doh creations. Jason and I are getting much better at creating things that look like actual animals. Abby makes them talk and walk around. She also enjoys squishing them back into the containers.
We definitely have to keep a close eye on her.
Matt came down and visited us in August. It was a good weekend. We hung out around the apartment but it was good to see Abby playing with family. It also prepped us for our trip up to Maryland that occurred at the end of September. She has a pretty good memory for people, we like for her to look at pictures so that she can recognize who is important to us. Anyway. Matt and Abby's big adventure for the weekend was eating Icy Pops. These are among the ten things that Abby likes to eat but she struggles with getting the ice out of the plastic and into her mouth. Matt was there for her when things got stuck.
This last picture is of the cake that Sue got me for my birthday. I haven't gotten a cake for the last couple of years and really wanted one. I was fully prepared to make a cake at my house just for me but Sue got one made and Jason picked it up. It was really good. Although it was too much for Jason and I. We did the best we could though.
