The first of our Christmas posts...

Our Christmas was super busy this year. We experiences the Amtrak way of travel from Vermont to Michigan. all in all it was a pretty good trip. We had to drive from Vermont to Schenectady. This took about 3.5-4 hours. Upon arrival we had to wait for our train. It was supposed to be there at 7. We didn't get on the train until 10:39...or perhaps 11:00. And Abby was awake the entire time. We never knew when it was coming so we couldn't put her to sleep. It made for an interesting time period. We spent a lot of time in the waiting space of Amtrak.

After we finally caught the train, Abby and I were pretty excited. We stayed awake for a little while but finally rested. We were supposed to get off the train at 9 in the morning, but because of the 3 hour delay on the pick up it was closer to noon when we got to Michigan, actually Indiana...Grandma & Grandpa picked us up and we drove to their house to start the celebration.

We started Christmas with my favorite part, STOCKINGS!! Yippee. Grandma had gotten us all stockings and we each brought stuff to help fill them. Abby left out cookies and milk the night before for Santa. She got a note back and was only a little excited about the note but super excited about the presents.

Kendra & Brian got Abby a little piano, which Jason was very excited about and so was she. She has played it frequently. Luckily she knows where the volume button is.

Abby's favorite present was of course more Polly Pockets. If you notice in the foreground of the picture a drum and other percussion instruments. This has been played often and loudly in the last month.

Our favorite gifts to give were the stuffed Jesus. Doesn't everyone want one?

and an Abby calendar for Grandma to take to work and share her favorite grandchild.

This sticker book has been a source of interest for Abby everyday. She asks to find the stickers that match the page that she is looking at. It is actually pretty awesome. I like it.

I was pretty impressed by Abby's drinking abilities over this holiday season. She used a big girl cup and drank a lot of milk but rarely spilled any.

Then it was time for us to go. This train ride was a little different because we were leaving a lot later than the other trip. We didn't get on the train until midnight. This meant setting up a bed in the train station and then carrying a sleeping Abby onto the train.

It also met a longer period on the train the following morning. Abby actually did pretty well. She played with her dolls for a long time and also watched a couple of movies on the computer.

She also liked to scamper across the aisle to go see Daddy. It was quite a process. First she was invited over by Daddy...

She check right...

then left...

and off she went!

Finally, She was met at the other side with a big smile and a hug.

Thanks for a great holiday. It was great to see you.
